“Global Focus on the Environmental Issues”
(Excerpts from the 2005 New Year Message)

Among the environmental issues focused recently such as destruction of the ozone layer, global warming, illegal abandonment, “Disposition of the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV)” is getting an attention.

The Law on Recycling of End-of-Life Vehicles (so-called ELV Recycling Law) started enforcement on January 1st, 2005.
The importance of Reuse/Recycling has received the social recognition and the consumer’s awareness on this matter has developed greatly. To this Recycling-Oriented Society, Shima Company is trying to contribute through reuse/ recycling of ELV, for example by developing new recycling technology. Also we have constructed the standard model of reuse/recycling business through our new “G-Parts” Shop where we offer reused/recycled auto parts to general public. At G-Parts, the consumers can select and buy reused/recycled parts in the same manner as brand-new products. Before, reused/recycled parts were mostly available for wholesalers such as dealers, repair shops, etc. and were very difficult for the general public to obtain.

Basic concept of Shima Company is “TO REVIVE THE LIFE OF THE-END-OF-LIFE VEHICLES” which were treasured in their life time in the form of parts and raw materials.
We receive support from the general consumers to this concept because they feel they are also contributing to the Recycling-Oriented Society through our reused/recycled products.

We begin the New Year, 2005, with the double title of ISO9001 (Quality Management) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management).
